TCF CENTER (COBO CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION CENTER)
DETROIT, MI

The revitalization of this landmark facility honors its legacy and positions it as a major fixture in the resurgence of the City of Detroit. The Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority embarked on a five-year capital improvement program geared toward making the complex a safer, leaner and greener space. This three-phased facility upgrade program incorporates a range of physical and operational enhancements, including numerous green building concepts.

At the heart of this venture lies a new ballroom which provides remarkable views to the Detroit Riverfront, Hart Plaza and the Renaissance Center. Housed on the facility’s second level, the ballroom sits over a new meeting room space and is flanked by a new atrium. As a signature space, the atrium will afford greater accessibility from the main level concourse area to the riverfront and a connection between exhibition spaces on the facility’s main floor and lower level of Michigan Hall. This program was finished with renovations and façade improvements including a state-of-the-art electronic media screen placed along the building’s eastern façade.
